Love Song (Buffalo Creek 4/8/12)
by Mitchell Sprinsky on Apr.08, 2012, under Colorado
Finally reaching my leg strength, I headed out for a longer singlespeed ride. It was an absolutely beautiful day. Blue skies, temps, no crowds, and just awesome dry dirt. I spent a lot of time doing this video. Lots of setup, ride, setup, and ride again. Though I despise chest cams, I was determined to find a less shaky mount than helmet and bars. I worked on the chest mount before the ride. I think that getting the camera to point up a little more will do the trick, but this was a good start. My goal is to eliminate arms from the chest cam. I tried to keep my arms as stiff as possible, while keeping my chest up. Enjoy!
Another Spring Day
by Mitchell Sprinsky on Mar.25, 2012, under Colorado
A picture perfect Colorado Spring day. The sky was blue, temperature warm, trails dry, people friendly, and the wild turkey’s were all over the place.
The parking lot was crammed. People were already parking along the access road, but we found our spots and headed out. Today’s crew included Bob, Tim, and Stephanie. I was dialing in the Eriksen for the upcoming Moab trip, Tim and Stephanie were rocking out their singlespeeds, and poor Bob was suffering the babyheads on the fully rigid. Ouch!
Roughing It, Schnauzer Style – Season II
by Mitchell Sprinsky on Mar.18, 2012, under Colorado, Ride Reports
I was eager to start season two of roughing it. I spent an entire week de-winterizing the camper and anxiously awaiting Friday afternoon. Of course, I was over prepared as always.
You have to understand how my mind works. I am a little crazy. All I could think about was finding a place to park the camper and my truck. Being able to turn around was a premium. SCORE! My early arrival netted the supreme RV/Camper dispersed site in Buffalo Creek.
East Coaster

Work brings me back to NJ every now and then. For that reason, I’ve kept a POS singlespeed at my parent’s house for years. Sometimes I get a ride in and sometimes I don’t. Luck would have it that I was in NJ for a warm March day. With temps approaching 74F, Colorado trails in muck mode, and some extra hours in the office, I was able to leave a bit early and hit Mercer County Park for a few hours of flat twisty singletrack. It’s been almost eight years since I was last here. I still remembered my way around the maze.
Please excuse the iPhone pics. That’s usually not my camera of choice.
Evergreen Snow Slog

The Pugsly has payed back in awesome dividends! I am so glad I got cabin fever and bought it, instead of a new camera. A few more snowy rides are left in the season and I’ll probably give it a whirl or two on the sand, in Buffalo Creek.
Today I joined, Tim, Stephanie, and Bob for a great ride at Three Sisters. Conditions were perfect for any tires. Tim and Stephanie kicked my butt on their singlespeeds! I can’t wait to slow them down in Moab.
