Fast Belch

by on Apr.10, 2011, under Colorado, Ride Reports

I had JCOS Patrol refresher training today, so getting an early ride in was out of the question.  After finishing up at 12, I stopped by the bike shop to pick up some lube and find out if Stu was still out (he was demoing a bike).  Turns out he was and I thought he was going to White Ranch.  I figured I’d try and catch him on his way back down.

The Plan

by on Apr.08, 2011, under Colorado, Ride Reports

I love it when a plan comes together. The perfect execution of a timeline. The most productive project that any Gantt chart freak would salivate at. A facilitated dream.

Today’s plan was one of those. Short, sweet, and to the point. Work, ride, eat wings, drink beer, and then drink more beer. What could be better? Ok, maybe less work, but the beer? Oh, the beer. And, I still drink it as I type. But, let’s move on. I’ll save the pictures of the food and beer until the end.

The ride is the important part here. Yes, the ride. A picture perfect ride. My Van Gogh.

Mixed Bag

by on Apr.03, 2011, under Colorado, Ride Reports

We decided on Heil and Picture Rock for today’s ride. The morning started off ok. It was warm, the sun was shining, but by the time the guys had stopped at my house the weather was changing. A couple of drops, but North looked ok. So, off we went. It was cloudy as we headed up Wapiti. The climb was nice, there were plenty of people out and about, but we should have known changes were afoot. Keith left his helmet at the car, so he went back. Stu and I continued up to wait for him.

Patrolling the Sistahs

by on Apr.02, 2011, under Colorado, Colorado, Ride Reports, Videos

And yet another beautiful day in Colorado.  After spending a week in NJ, I really needed to get out and breath some fresh air.  What better way than to combine riding and giving back a little to the people who maintain our great trails.  Love them or hate them, we are lucky to have access to some of the best dirt in the world.

Looking Back

by on Mar.30, 2011, under Mindless Banter

Yes, this is a newer post and to a new blog format. After many years, I decided to move away from Joomla and onto something that can “get with the times”. So, WordPress is the new format and it gives me the ability to update and post from various devices, such as the iPad and even my Android phone. Kind of cool. We’ll see just how much I actually utilize it. Just one stat that I need to bring over, since it will be reset. The original schnauzers.ws had over 2,000,000 unique visitors.

So I have a decision to make. What do I do with the years of old posts in Joomla? There is no convert utility, so I have to manually move every old post. This is not an easy task and though I have started to do it, I am not sure I want to continue doing it. We are talking about hundreds of entries with pictures and videos. Some of them have files in different locations. That means I have to read all of the old posts. In doing that, I have become pretty depressed. I am reading stuff about how great things were and some of those things are not all that great anymore. Friends who are no longer friends, bands who are no longer bands, and activities that are not quite as good as they used to be. Sure there are changes in my life that are better and I should look to that as a positive, but sometimes it’s hard to relive the old times. I spend a lot of time thinking about what happened to cause the change. Some of them were totally my fault, yet others anger me because of the unnecessary bullsh!t I was put through.

After this post, the future will be back to biking. Video’s pictures, and stories will once again fill these pages. How I will get the old stuff in, still needs to be figured out.
