Ya Gotta Love It!

by on Dec.05, 2004, under Uncategorized

It was a small crowd today. Just Joe, Mike, Jeff, Jun, and I. I don’t know what kept everyone in today, but if you ride now, that’s less weight to lose after the holidays!

We head down Forbidden Drive and up into the hills of the valley. The trails were in very good shape for a change.

Joe strikes a pose for the ladies.

We then head down the trail that was rutted out the last time we rode here. Now it’s become a nice coaster with many dropoffs. The trail then crosses the stream and it’s up again.

Someone or something has been clearing the logs off the trail. But we do find a small one.

Arrggghhh!!! Where is John Tannock (the world’s greatest photographer) when you need him! It’s not often I actually do a full bunny hop on the big rig and the pic is snapped too late. Yeah, I know, "sure you did it". Most of the time I just pop the front and barrel ass through with the suspension.

A bigger log pile.

Next, we head off to the bowl. I’ve never been there before, so it’s new to me. Just a playground with some jumps.

It’s hard to see in this photo, but there is actually a gap there.

So, being the daring one he always is, Joe let’s Mike get some air!

But perhaps the highlight of the day (besides Jeff’s lack of a mechanical and me getting dog sh*t on my shoe) was Jun’s mechanical engineering capabilities. After severing the bolts that hold his seatpost, he created a water bottle seat.

Another fine JAR ride!
