Are we in the same State?
The thought of getting closer to God by climbing the highest peaks, doesn't always come to my mind. I think it was even further from that as the elevation grew. Where does it say that Heaven is warmer than Hell? Funny thing was that as we approached the top, the temperature hovered in the mid forties.
The occasional northward facing shading areas harbored a bit of challenge. Most of the time is was just a little crunchy, but there were a few places where it looked like glaciers were forming.
Season changes are one of the few things I had to figure into my move from the East coast. There were places on my list that don't change from one day to another. Sure, there's a lot to be said about the benefits of that. Ultimately, I settled in a place that has seasons. However, you'd never tell from this picture that we were in the dead of Winter. I can't even tell you how many times I have taken this exact photo in the Summer.

When you get to the top, you get to go down. Sandywash was in perfect shape!
As we drop back down to the car, the wind changes direction. All the warmth seems to disappear. That is, until the stop at Zoka's and the glass of Milk Stout warm things up.
Back in Golden, it's Gray, fourteen degrees, and snowing. Maybe, it was all a dream?
